Pastry (Part 1)
Ingredients
- 2 cups of plain flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 3/4 cup of milk
Filling (Part 2)
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon or mixed spice
- 1/4 cup of chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon of melted butter
Method
- Preheat oven 190'c.
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl.
- Rub in the butter.
- Add the milk; mix with a knife to form soft dough.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface, knead lightly then roll it into a rectangle.
- Spread melted butter over the dough, and then sprinkle the brown sugar, spice then the chocolate chips.
- Roll the dough from the long end to form a long sausage shape.
- Cut into slices, place on oven tray. Bake until golden, 15 - 20 minutes.
